Tambunan I agree, we have to weigh our decisions. I know there are people who will disagree, but to me, the life of my child is of significantly greater value than that of my cat.

Tambunan Ravenladyj, I'm relieved that we won't have to worry about the cat jumping into the crib. The cat-less house does feel a bit lonely, but much safer in the circumstances. We are thinking about getting another cat after our son is big enough and not so fragile....

Tambunan Allknowing, We try not to kill the snakes either. The Javanese say that if you put salt in front of your door they wont come in... but they also say that if if you throw salt on a snake it turns into ashes, so I'm not to sure I believe it. :-)
