Forgotten password on Laptop

A friend of mine has forgotten the password to access their laptop! I suggested removing the battery for 24 hours to see if that worked but to no avail. Anybody got any suggestions?

bigv038 Yeah I've had that problem before with my pc. It was a nightmare! The site I used to get the drivers in the end wasn't the best either, so slow! Thanks for your response I forgot about that ;)
