What cooking oil do you normally prefer?

I always try and use mustard oil for most of my cooking as it is low in cholesterol. I've also heard that olive oil is good but my son is allergic to it.

brimia When I cook on the stovetop I just put a little water in the pan to keep things from sticking. When baking, I add applesauce or other pureed fruit in the same amount of whatever oil or margarine the recipe calls for.

brimia Yes, I had forgotten about potato pancakes...I haven't had them in ages but they are very good with applesauce. I also like adding them to baked goods.

brimia I'm not sure yet. I'll probably make some apple crisps and applesauce. I've never made apple butter but I love it and might give that a shot. I'd like to keep quite a few in the refrigerator as long as I can because I love eating crisp apples.

Do you like your salsa hot, medium, or mild? Chunky or smooth? I like between a mild and medium spiciness and just chunky enough that it doesn't pour right off the chip or food that I'm putting it on.
