My son turns one on January 1st and I was wondering should I throw him a birthday party. I know some people they say no because it's a waste of money and he's not going to remember it... but I think I will feel a little better if...

elvbierbaum You need that special moment...not really for him but for you! Take out the camera, buy a cake and invite family over! Watch him open - or at least play with - his presents and get his face filthy from the cake! It's memories!

Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume on the radio?

elvbierbaum Oh my gosh that's hilarious! I noticed I did it AFTER I'd made fun of my mother for years for doing it! She would always shush us in the car when she was looking for some place to park or whatever!

elvbierbaum The first website that pops up is yahoo but I instantly go to sparkpeople.com to enter my food for the day and check my schedule. Then it's back to yahoo to check email.

How do I respond to my 19 month old that has started to swing at me when she doesn't get her way?

elvbierbaum I have three children. My youngest, who is 21 months old, has just recently started hitting and biting when he doesn't get his way. I grab his hands before he gets the chance most of the time and tell him sternly, "NO". Sometimes it helps, sometimes not....

elvbierbaum Christmas changed for me as I grew up too. But then I had children and it all came back to me again. The fun of opening presents christmas morning, the dinners, family. I love it all again. My kids did that for me.

elvbierbaum I'm reading Mr Murder. It was boring for a minute but I kept pushing thru it -reading during the day so I wouldn't fall asleep helped! It's good now!

elvbierbaum Not big on camping. I had to go camping when we went to NC for my aunts wedding. She lives up in the mountains so the entire family had to set up tents! I hated it!
