speed limits in cars

just wondering it is a law to go past certain speed limits why don't they just make a car to not go as fast and just to the speed limit? less gas, less tickets, less accidents. what ya think?

I guess when I was younger I never really thought about it but as I got older now I cannot understand why one enjoys getting drunk and wakeing up to the New Year with a headache . That is the wrong way to start off the New Year....
