kqara0 I know and I will never be sure I make the correct decision to go and find a better luck for myself away from my beloved ones. It's really sad to see people alienated from their friends and families.

kqara0 Yes, new friends are helpful, but never a replacement. I have friends that I know since I was a kid, that's all my life. I really hope you'll be able to go back at the end of the year and see them!

kqara0 Yes, I have more time to read books, to roam around the city, to go hiking on my day off, etc. This doesn't make up for the need to be around people I care for, not constantly, but at least some times.

kqara0 I don't have children, so I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to live away from your son. Of course, it's always a consolation to think that your sacrifices in the present will help build a better future.

kqara0 Maybe you'll appreciate Sidux, if you haven't already tried it. It's all the newest, sometimes still buggy stuff of Debian's Unstable branch. It's good to play around, though it can give you a hard time if something goes wrong.
