What does this star do?

I and other people sometimes have a star next to their name in myLot with a number inside. When I hover my mouse over the star, a tooltip appears saying it's reputation... what is this? what does it do? and how come I have 7?

miamhae I preferred to sleep with the light off, Its easy to felt sleep when the light turn off. And that's why God give us the dark as night to make this comfortable with us, because our body also react in light, just like we are energizer with the sun rise.
