What's The Saddest Song To Bring Tears To Your Eyes?

Well it's not really a sad song, but the one that always brings tears to my eyes is "Russians" by Sting. There is something really evocative in his arrangement, with the bells from St. Basil's Cathedral ringing in the end of the song. If I close my eyes I can imagine myself back there with the snow gently falling around me. It makes me think of my late Mother, and all the family I don't see so often, and it always makes me cry.

Oh for me there's two both are related to people I've loved and lost, one reminds me of my father - not sure why and it's a little known song by Prince, back in the days when he was Prince and not 'symbol' and it's called 'Sometimes it snows in April' - never fails to bring a tear. The next is the cover that Puff Daddy or P Diddy did (I think)and that's 'I'll be missing you' Both reduce me to floods of tears without fail.. Nights in White Satin bring back some good memories for me from when I was a teenager, it's strange how you hear a song and it takes you back to a time or reminds you of a place - Great discussion topic

The saddest song to me is the song of life, lyrics and music written and sung by myself. It is up to me now how sad and sombre I want the song to be. I just lost a friend to cancer.

There are two songs that are equally sad to me. And, I don't know the name of either. One is about a couple, and by the end of the song they are in the same hospital on different floors. It's so sad because they die apart. Then, there's one that Reba McIntire sings about her dad and how she misses after he's gone. They both make me cry a lot.

The saddest song for me is "Grandpa" by The Judds. We used to listen to that song as children, mostly with my grandparents. The Judds were one of their favorite groups. I used to sit up late at night with my grandparents telling me about the "good ole days." They had so many interesting stories. We could sit there for hours and hours, night after night, listening to great stories that would make you laugh, cry, put you in awe. it was great and I miss them terribly.

There's a song that makes me cry every time I hear it, I don't know the name, it goes "Wishing on a star..." and its about missing someone.

Grr what a miserable depressing discussion you've started hun! LOL Just kidding. There are a few songs which are guaranteed to make me boo like a baby, the main one is Careless Whisper by George Michael - I was a teenager when this first came out and it reminds me of how much pain I was in after splitting up with a boy, except I was only with him for a few months and when I think about him now I just chuckle at how innocent our relationship was. It wasn't a real relationship by any means but at that age it was the world to me. I guess the song just reminds me of a more innocent time in my life when everything was black and white and a broken relationship with a good for nothing fella was the be all and end all of life's problems. Now there are far more important things to consider, such as: health, mortgage, paying the bills, parents getting older, etc. *sigh* Lovely to remember stuff like that sometimes, I will go home and listen to Careless Whisper tonight. xx

the songs that really make me feel sad are christian songs.. i rally feel sad because i can feel the emotion rising inside my heart because i feel guilty for being a sinner.. i can feel how jesus loves me and gave his life for me... it really makes me sad and brings tears to my eyes

when i hear the song of jeniffer love hewitt "love will show everything" i can help myself but be sad...i will always remember the movie "if only" and think what would i do if it happens to me...

There are so many songs that make me cry. The old song (one older than I am) is Danny Boy. Newer ones are The Dance and then one that was new 23 years ago that makes me cry is He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones. Several of Jim Croece songs also makes rears flow.

Nothing compares - Sinead O´Connor - that song will have me crying in no time. While she is singing i can really hear the torture in her voice and it is so sad =) I also love to cry to the song "picture" a duett with Sheryl crow and Kid rock. It is not a sad sad song, but still it is tragic and has a big place in my heart =)

"Nights in white satin" is an excellent song as a matter of fact I like alot of Moody Blues songs. But I would have to say I like "Your song" by Three Dog Night, and "Last Kiss" by J. Frank Wilson And The Cavaliers, although the Pearl Jam version is good too!

I love that song too wolfie. In general i love moody blues very much. My choice of music sure is controled of my mood too. At this very moment im listening to Simply Reds: If you dont know me by now. I have that many sad songs that i cherrish i have a special folder on my laptop where i keep them all. One of my top fav is River of tears with Eric Clapton, it is sure to put a tear in my eyes when i am feeling blue.
