I thought little people crawl through a door in the back of the TV and that's how we got TV, I thought if the earth is supposed to be round I eventually fall of. I thought that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were real, but so did you I'm sure. I thought [b]GOD[/b looked like a police officer except his uniform was white, who knows maybe that's what he looks like.. What things did you think about as a kid that are funny and not at all true.

How funny, we didn't even have a tooth fairy in Germany. I think I swallowed some of my teeth.

That all men and woman have to be married to have children. Certainly not true.

You mean like having control of your own life and that others who said or should love you would help you instead of hurting you? I think I could be quite descriptive, I could just pass along a link and you can read until your heat is content that indeed what I thought as a child wasn't true at all in reality.

I was scared of thinking in school assembly because I thought I would get a thought bubble over my head like they do in cartoons and everyone could see what I was thinking. I used to live in a road called Rose Drive and there is a bus company in my area called Red Rose. The bus came to the bus stop outside my house and I thought it was called Red Rose because it came to us and we lived in Rose Drive. I thought that I could learn to swim in the bath. I also thought people lived in the TV and always got told off for staring at the back of the TV. I thought that when you left primary school (age 11) you became an adult and got married and had children. I thought that if I was pushed hard enough on the swings in the park I would land on the moon. Despite how stupid I may sound lol, I was actually put up a year at school for being clever as a child.

OMG I totally agree with the TV thing. I always wondered how they fit in there. That is too funny. Seems like ages ago since I was a little kid. I can't remember anything right now.

hello missybear, When I was a kid I thought the same too with santa claus, but eventually our parents explained to us that he's not really around giving gifts for everyone but them. T'was a good experienced though even he is not real for every kid is expecting and waiting for his arrival to give gifts on Christmas. Making every kid happy is all that matter anyway. Tooth fairy is also not real but it's just fine too. Making me believe that he/she is around before was a great experienced too.

Did you get money under the pillow. We didn't have such a thing as the tooth ferry in Germany.

Hey missy! I thought the same thing about the tv! Not so sure about Santa and the Easter Bunny though! It was so long ago when I was a kid I'm not sure that I can remember that far back! I did think that God was someone in a white uniform with a long white beard that carried a white stick! Oh, yeah! Listen to this one! When I was a little kid I was staying at my Grandma's apartment and a moth flew on my pillow and I got scared so my mother told me that it was a butterfly that was lost! She told me that butterflys live in Arizona! And from then on everytime I saw a butterfly for years I would point and say "Look Mommy, the butterfly is lost, it can't find it's way to Arizona! Now you know why I'm as screwed up as I am! I asked her where she got that story from and even she doesn't know!

So interesting, kid's imagination is more exaggerated than adult. I like kid's painting very much, coloured, lovely, naive. you know ,when we grow up, we lost these capability and turn to be disciplinarian. No other reasons, real life, society make it. why not encourage kids to retain their naive, rarity imaginations as long as possible, because one day, they will lose them finally.

- I used to think if you swallowed a watermelon seed that we would grow watermelons in our bellies - I used to also believe in the Tooth Fairy - I was told that when it thundered, the angels were bowling; when it lightened out, the kid angels were turn the lights off an on, when they should have been in bed, and when it rained, Mary was emptying her wash bucket. - I was told that if you sang in the morning, you would most certainly cry at night.

I also believed in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. One year I noticed that Santa Clause wrote just like my mom. The gift said from Santa Claus but it looked just like Mom's handwriting. I believed in the Easter Bunny and I am not sure when I stopped. I can't remember believing in anything else that was funny. My brother on the other hand believed the garbage truck would come and get him. He also thought the vacuum cleaner was evil. The funniest thing about what my brother believed...My uncle used to paint houses for a a living. He could come to our place to pick up my cousin and show up with white paint in his hair and beard. My brother thought he was a monster and would run and hide. I used to laugh at him for that one.

well this is one of the most interesting questions here on mylot, i like the cute question! :D when i was a child and when i used to listen to audio cassettes, during those days the songs mostly ended with the volume slowly lowering and eventually fading off and the compact disk was the new thing around and we didn't have it at that time, so i and my smaller brother always thought that the tracks in the cassette are shorter and the cd's contained the full length track!
