We went on a mystery tour today

At 10am this morning, we boarded a bus with other ‘senior persons’ and were driven very sedately to a lovely park in the Bunbury suburb of Dalyellup. Bunbury is our nearest city. We were on a ‘mystery tour and picnic’ put on for free by the local Lions Club.
When we arrived, there were tables and chairs set up under some shady trees. The last two days have been really hot but today, although a bit windy, was much more pleasant. The wind kept the flies away too.
Once there we were offered tea or coffee and a biscuit. After chatting for a short time, we then had chicken kebabs and a meat patty together with a selection of salads and a bun. Later, we were offered platters of fruit and cheese boards.
So, while it wasn’t an earth-shattering experience, it was very pleasant. We met new people. The bus driver used to be the President of the Apple-Growers Association when I was secretary so we were able to renew our acquaintance. Vince wants to go out for dinner so we’re heading to Donnybrook for a meal. The last time we had a meal in a restaurant was in September when we celebrated our wedding anniversary.

They didn't know where they were being taken. She mentioned that in an earlier post.

You had a great outing! So what cookies were offered to you !!
And are Chicken Kebabs famous in Bunbury too? This is a bit of news to me.
I am happy to see that you had a great outing.

The biscuits were quite plain but still nice. Chicken kebabs are popular here. Lots of people make their own too.

It was a cheerful and relaxing trip ! I see there is a blue flag with Donnybrook on it in the picture,Isn't Donnybrook a town where people gain farm experience?

@JudyEv The best is to spend the day doing something we like. The 27th of December is a Friday and I think it is a quiet day, many Swiss go skiing during the Christmas holiday. We could have a day trip to the Lake Maggiore (50 miles from here), have lunch in a restaurant there and come back home before dinner time.

Why is it a mystery tour?
Glad you had an enjoyable picnic.

@JudyEv I like surprise destinations, too. Makes the road trip very exciting.
I will suggest that mystery tour, if ever I join my friends again. Sigh, my friends are all so predictable.

@eileenleyva Some people like to know where they are going. They don't like 'surprises'.

@crazyhorseladycx That is a lot for a milkshake. I really don't know what they are here. I might do a post about our prices. I think meat is much more expensive than yours.

Sounds like you had a wonderful outing! Glad it was pleasant for you! I love the tear-drop flag. I have similar ones in front of the swimming pools I manage. Is that a wheel rim holding up the flag? haha

@JudyEv We stake our to the ground, because we leave them out on a semi-permanent basis (every now and then we'll move or rotate the flags out).
