How do some people manage to earn so much?

I use the site for about 10 hours a day. I always reply to my friends discussions if they are relevent and then more. I probably answer about 150 discussions a day. I give fairly long answers too. I get chosen as best answer about 3 or 4 times a day and start about 4 discussions myself which have varying popularity but always have at least 2 pages of results within a couple of days and some a lot more.
How come some people say they earn $5 or more a day, I don't know what else I can do. I haven't got any referals by the way and am working on trying to get some to help, but there must be more I can do.

Good Job!
I mean, you are doing everything.
I guess the referal thinggy is a big factor though and the uploading of pictures too. (i have read something about this in mylot)
i don't earn much here either... but i try to enjoy it at the same time so the wait will not be as bad at it seems.
Good Luck my dear! :)

Wow, it seems like you are doing so much already and doing everything right. It seems the only thing left is referrals, and I know that those are so hard to get. I have tried myself, and have gotten a few, but most are not that active. SEems like you are doing great to me, keep up the great work and keep on posting!

Your situation sounds very similar to mine, Michelle, although I cannot be on here more than a couple of hours during the week, because of work. If you find me an answer, please let me know, and I will be reading the replies here very closely, for advice!

I am hoping that someone will have the answer, but I'm not sure there is a simple solution!
It would be useful to know whether some discussions are more worth answering than others though.

your working hard man!
is there something else to be done..im afraid!
150 posts along with discussions....thats amazing!
do you know somebody who is trustworthy enough and who claims he has earned that much in a day!
if you are going by people's statements...then plz dont do that.
who knows if they are bogus statements only to catch more responses.5 dollars would mean one has to actually post around 300 -400 posts that too good one s...and start some discussions on interesting topics.i doubt if somebody can strain for that long.
i have been following your discussions and posts ...you doing pretty well!keep up the good work.it will surely pay you.....fine!

i posted 40 to 50 posts a days by they just pay me by cents so I guess I should also consider other sites. At least when I add your mylot earning and the other sites earning, I will see some progress on my money-making schemes.

When it comes to earning, I make so little that it isn't even worth me considering the money I make. It makes me think that some inflate their earning statements some. That does sound crazy, or perhaps they are gaming the system. At which point they should share.

The referral thing is hard. I've approached a few people about it and they all assume it's a scam, or someway to steal your information. My husband refers to my time on MyLot as "getting my 2 cents in". :) I would also like to make some decent money here too, but am not sure if it will happen so I'm taking the approach that I enjoy it here, it's nice to see people that feel the way I do, and the money is just a small perk.

My personal opinion about earnings on this site is that it is very arbitrary. I cannot see any relation between the amount of time I spend on it and how much my earnings are per day. I have spent hours, responding to and creating discussions only to earn...30c! And I am a 10 rating or a 9. So I really don't know and I don't think anyone else does either. Put it this way, if you were hoping to earn money from MyLot, forget it.

I have to disagree because i have made just over $5 in a day and have 6 referrals and not one of them is active. When i do find referrals i never seem to get credit for them anyway so i do not even bother as no one ever seems interested and those that are wind up not counting as my referrals. It is possible without referrals or imaging and i know because i have done it!

how would you recommend I find referals? I've tried my friends and they don't seem interested and I don't like spamming on other sites.

On days that I make almost $3, I find myself starting and replying to around 100 posts. And I try to make my posts at least 3 sentences. I have 13 referrals now though. Try to recruit some, I'm sure pretty soon you will earn $5 or more.

Two or three quick thoughts. Long answers don't necessarily do better than a few well fashioned sentences. Next, I am curious why 10 hours of your time is only worth a goal of $5. Normally, 5 cents an hour isn't considered a good thing. $5 a day is only good if your time investment is very small, like 2 hours per week.
Finally, and probably most important, you have to sign up many friends to write underneath you and encourage them to work hard. You can make a lot more money off of 100 people writing a litte bit below you than you can make writing a lot yourself.

Personally, i don't trust all of those who claim he get $ 5 or $ 10 in a day or $ 1000 in a month, they do that just to get more responds.
So ignore them :)

Wow...I can not believe that this discussion has brought out soo much distrust in fellow mylot members. I think that this discussion is bashing those of us that have honestly made over $5 i mean it is nowhere near impossible at all! I have made $5.56 on my own and honestly and think my referral already got 25 % of that also so i really made close to $7 if you think about it! I do exactly as you do and i always respond to my whole discussions and most of my posts have alot of responses to them also! I also do not make money for anything as of yet other than for my posting, responding and discussion. I nstead of bashing those of us that have in fact did this i think everyone should concentrate on succeeding themselves!

Wow that is a lot of time trying to make money here. I think someone might be pulling your leg.
Although I have seen a lot of people on here that are copying and pasting and probably getting paid for it.

I do not spend all that much time on here and i have made$5.56 and that was with no referrals and i do not have to copy and paste. It is not that hard to do so maybe if you tried harder than you all wouldn't think that $5 was a gold mine. I am not trying to be rude but i have earned this much easily and honestly and i do not think that it is fair for everyone to judge me as a cheater because of my accomplishments!

Thank you for starting this discussion. I know I have been talking to all of my online friends who I know just love to put their 2 cents in on any discussion, but for some reason they don't seem to want to join up over here. I just don't get it. I love coming on here to see who's responded to the discussions and to see what they've had to say. Hopefully I can find some who will enjoy it as much as I do and start earning a little more. I'm not here to get rich, but it's nice to see that total earnings go up every day. Happy postings all!

I'm sorry, but that seems like a whole LOT of work for almost nothing. If you are looking for part-time jobs, try wahm.com. At least you could find something that would tailor to your schedule and you make upward of $8 an hour. I use mylot for fun only and it may take me a month or two to get to $5 even. I started off gung ho but quickly learned that it is NOT worth it.

I haven't found any online jobs that I can do at home in England. All the ones I find are scams or need you to go to the office at least once a week. If you know of any genuine jobs I could do from home in England I love to know about them.

agreed. If you're looking for real money, maybe you should look for an online part time job or something similar, because mylot is not for that, but to have fun and get a small gratification, but nothing similar to a salary, except maybe a few exceptions of people who make a lot of money here don't know how.

i'm not earning much here as well... and i don't really expect it as i know that i i won't get it... why don't you just relax and enjoy your time here and try not to pressurise yourself too much? just accept whatever earnings you get and be happy with it... it makes life so much happier... that's what i do... i try to enjoy my time here and i treat the money as the bonus...

Michelle, I don't know what more you can do! You are putting a lot into this site already! Getting referrals would probably help, but I can't say for sure because I don't have any and haven't really pursued it. From what I hear, though, the earnings from referrals is such a small amount that you would need a whole lot of them to make a difference.
For the amount of time that you put in here, you might want to consider trying another way to make money in addition to MyLot. I belong to a site called Associated Content. They don't work by referrals. What they do is pay you to write short articles about ANYTHING you want. Whatever you're good at or know a lot about. The articles have to be at least 400 words and they have to be your original work, of course. They pay from $3 to $20 per article into your paypal account. From what I've read of your posts, you could write some excellent articles about being a vegan, what it is, what foods you eat, how to be sure that you are getting the proper nutrition, etc... I'll bet that you could write a whole bunch of articles right off the top of your head. Just come up with a topic, WRITE AN OUTLINE, and then write and submit the article. The site is pretty easy to navigate and the FAQ's are helpful:

I looked at the site and they only pay US citizens so unfortunately it isn't any good for me. But thanks, it did look good.
