mimpi deepak, we kind of use lot of acronyms in chatting sites, where easy, fast and quick repartees are appreciated. we want to deliver our thoughts in the same frequency of talking. hence these abbreviations come in handy. smileys and acronyms are invented...

mimpi LOL is essentially LAUGHING OUT LOUD. its better to use it as that only. and reagrding P you are right, its used in a taunting note. your hindi analysis is just apt. thanx to POLO for the list.
