Do you use a fake name for your user name?

I don't get the point, why people use fake names rather than their names for the usernames.

roark82 I use a fake name because sometimes people go too far with privacy. I don't like people knowing my real name because sometimes when information is given, people go too far. I like that I can give my opinion and help others and hide behind a name that no body...
