Hey, I was just wondering what is life like living in Canada. How does one become a citizen of Canada? What formalities have to be done and are they similar to what people have to do to live in America.
And if you know, please...

spiderman05 I think that Lindalinda has answered your question very well. I would recommend Alberta as well. I live in Quebec, though life is still tough here and much more tougher for new comers, especially if you do not speak any French.

spiderman05 My eating hours are very irregular. I can spend a day without eating a proper meal. Also, I don't eat at regular hours, and when I eat I generally eat more than average. I don't know if you can call that an eating disorder though. I guess, you were more...

This discussions is for Linux users or users who have tried Linux (windows users may not understand what I am talking about). A recent controversial remark of Linus about gnome is one of the hot topics around the Linux world....

spiderman05 I prefer KDE over gnome too. I tried Gnome back in 2001 and it was OK, maybe still comparable to KDE at that time. Since then, KDE has improved a great deal. KDE4 is around the corner now and it is going to be much faster than the older versions as it is based...

spiderman05 I hate to say it, but I don't think that linux is going to get over Windows in the near future. I am a fervent Linux user and believer. The KDE and Gnome projects did a great a job. I think that the GUI of Linux distros is at least as good as that of Windows...

Do you hide money from your spouse? Do you keep some tucked away "just in case"?
I don't. I put money away but Hubby knows about it and we don't really keep things like that from each other. I do know other couples where one...

I know XML is a very good way to store data independent from platforms to share with everybody.
Do you have experience using XML with Java?
Where can I start to learn something about it?
4 responses
spiderman05 Performance depends on the way XML files are parsed. Many programming languages provide 2 flavors of parsers hierarchical parsers and stream parsers.
Hierarchical parsers load the whole XML document in memory and then exploit the hierarchy of that document...
