Why aren't the Mariners doing anything this offseason?

sumoman1218 Horacio Ramirez and Jose Vidro definitely show some promise offensively and defensively, but they have been riddled with injuries in the past few years. The Mariners could have done a lot better this offseason (like sign someone like Barry Zito), but I think...

sumoman1218 Shawn Alexander is a great all-around player, however he has been really inconsistent this year (i should know, i'm a seattleite lol). LaDainlan Thompson (SD Chargers) would be a better bet.
