My children are 3 and 4 1/2. I cannot tell you the number of times people have sent my kids things (even through the mail) that I just shook my head at, because they made no sense for a young child to play with.
I remember a...

tenthingsfarm Well, my hubby has a job where he works three 12 hour shifts, and gets paid for 40 hours a week. So, he's home 4 days. He sleeps in, surfs the 'net, plays nintendo, and leaves dishes in the sink (sigh). Even HE is starting to notice that I'm busy all the time,...

This question just popped into my head. Although I love all types of pies, pumpkin pie is my hands down favorite. This pie is typically only made around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Why is that?

After you make your macoroni and cheese, do this.
Add 1 and 1/2 cup brocolli floretts
Then take 1 cup stuffing softened in 2 tbs. butter and sprinkle on top of it. Bake 350* 10 to 15 minutes.
Opt. add bacon bits.

tenthingsfarm That sounds really good! Do you steam the broccoli first, or just add it raw? I wouldn't want it to be overcooked, but I have a toddler, so I don't want it too 'hard' either.
Then again, with a toddler, maybe I should just keep things separate - often,...

For 7 years, I've been on various meds for hypertension. None of them controlled it. Without the meds, I was 160/95. At best, with meds, I hovered around 145/85. I never wanted to start taking the meds in the first place and when...

tenthingsfarm Losing weight helps with blood pressure. Regular exercise helps tremendously. If you can find time to walk 20 minutes every day at a brisk pace, you'll see numbers go down...but if you stop walking regularly, they'll start to creep up again!
Another thing...

tenthingsfarm If you limit the amount of 'stuff' he has to deal with, maybe it won't be so overwhelming. For clothing, have a shirt drawer, a sock/underwear drawer, a jeans/pants drawer. If something needs to be hung on a hanger, can he reach the rod to hang it up? If not,...

I love flowers but practically wise I'd rather be given something tangible or have a date. I told my husband, that I love flowers but I'd prefer a date or Cake for Valentines. How about you?

tenthingsfarm I think flowers are really pretty, but I hate to waste the money on something that will just last for a few days....and I hate that the prices go up so much at Valentine's day! Often, my husband gets me some flowers in plant form - a begonia, or a miniature...

tenthingsfarm How old are your children, how many children do you have, and what sorts of responsibilities do you want them to have?
Mine are pretty young, but we already have a routine. When we wake up, there is some snuggling and changing of diapers while we all get...
