Anime and Cartoon, What's the Difference ?!

As a kid, I often refer to all animations as cartoons. Now, I refer to them as animes. But really, whats the difference? I think anime and cartoons are the same.. they're both animations. Any ideas?

thought7 I mostly agree with what you said. I have seen both anime. OP's filler is much better or at least more interesting than Naruto's. But naruto's big moments are FAR better than OP's. Also Naruto has a better storyline. It makes more sense and sticks to the laws...
