will swimming make me loose weight?

i want to loose some weight and tone up by an exercise that i would enjoy doing and that would be swimming. but will it really help? because some say that swimming will make me look bigger just like the professional swimmer's...

tianajanae hi! i never knew that those professional swimmers also lifted weights. so that's what made them look bigger. what a relief! i am definitely gonna try swimming for exercise and weight loss this time! i can't wait. thanks!
