The coconut oil does have peculiar smell, but we like its smell and taste in our cooking. I've never tasted nor seen such butter you've mentioned.

We do not use coconut oil in cooking, as it has peculiar smell. Although, it is one of best oils for cooking. We use clarified butter called Desi Ghee in Hindi and groundnut refined oil to cook.
