I must admit, my walk wasn't overly enjoyable today. The temps are near 90 and it's humid to the point the sweat just drips off of you rather than evaporating.
On top of it, there really wasn't much to see. Most of the critters...

And this is the best shot I could get of her. She had a nest of babies nearby and was doing her best to draw me away from it. I did end up resisting the urge to look for the nest itself, mostly because the grass is getting pretty...

I saw this little bird taking a break in the grass. I think it must have just left the nest because the mother robin was shouting at me from a tree.

I must admit, I was very surprised to see this young woodchuck today. There were a couple of ladies walking their dogs a short time earlier in the exact same area I found this guy just resting on the trail.
I could tell it was a...

I saw this mallard as I was on my walk at lunch today. It was taking a break so I grabbed a photo. The one thing I found I liked best about this duck is his green head looked almost purple in the light.

I've seen a few of these birds around the park lately. I think they are just passing through but are definitely beautiful birds. I caught a photo of this one as it was resting over a creek.

I was able to grab a photo of this fish (I believe it is a young bass) in one of the ponds while on my walk.
I'm not really sure why there are even fish in that pond. It's not connected to the nearby lake, at least that I'm aware...

This was a bit of a tricky capture. The grass is getting taller around the pond and, more often than not, I don't see frogs/turtles until they've seen me and are already in the water.
I did manage to sneak up on this one though.

I went for my morning walk before heading into the office today and, as I was making a circle to head back home, I saw this wood duck hiding in the trees. These are definitely among my favorite to photograph because of the...

I went for my walk at lunch today (which was really fun with all the mud) and happened to see this oriole in one of the shrubs. Unfortunately, I had to take the photo from a distance because it flew away the second I got closer...

The coolest thing I saw on my walk this morning was a muskrat. However, it caught me by surprise and I couldn't get a good shot of it before it dived under water (they can hold their breath for a very long time so I didn't even...

There were only about a half dozen of them swimming around but, considering it's been cold out the past few days, I was a little surprised to see that many. They must have just hatched because they weren't there when I walked...

It is very cloudy out right now, with very little sunlight getting through. And, as a result, the photos are coming out a bit on the dark side. But, you can still see the ducklings and their mom.

My kids are on their summer break as of today so, since I have much more free time in the morning before work, I'm starting to take a walk before even getting in the car to head to the office.
This walk takes me through the park...

This one looks like it is trying to hang on for dear life. But, I think it had a firm grip on the branch and was just trying to look around without being seen too. I grabbed a photo of it while I could.

Well, technically, it's a bridge (it goes over the duck pond in the park I visited this morning). But, I thought it was pretty cool these ducks were just hanging out there this morning and snapped a photo.

My oldest daughter had a figure skating competition yesterday morning. She did relatively well, finishing second in both her compulsory category and with her program as well as third in spins. However, my biggest "proud dad"...
