secretary131 It's not a bad thing to do unless you beat the child to the point that they can't breath. The best age to start is probably 4 or 5 and once they get older you should only do it once in a while just to remind them that you're still the boss.

secretary131 I would say maybe an hour to an hour and a half each night and usually a couple of hours on Sunday because I do all of my projects on the weekends.
