teagsmom I hear you about the price of gas. I've been trying to limit my trips into town so that I don't have to drive that often. It's so nice to have so many at home days.

teagsmom I'm the same way with makeup! If I'm at home, it doesn't go on, but I won't leave the house with out at least some mascara and a touch of lip gloss.

Anyone have any good recipes for fish batter? I'm just looking for some ideas as to what to dip my fish in before I put it into the oil. Any secret seasonings or tips to try? TIA!

Anyone have any special plans coming up? Any traditions? Going to see a parade? Barbecueing? Shooting off fireworks? Are you going to see a big fireworks show anywhere?

teagsmom Sounds great! We're actually going to a fourth parade for the first time this year, but we're not watching. My husband's company is having us hold the strings on one of those big balloons at parades! That's going to be a first for me!

Any one have any genius ideas? I do have a pound of ground turkey thawing and I have a well stocked pantry, so go crazy, folks!! lol! What are you making for dinner? Anything special, or are you just winging it?

teagsmom We had cake after dinner, too - a king cake! Mardi Gras is big here in St. Louis, so I at least had to enjoy a king cake for dessert this Saturday before Ash Wednesday!

teagsmom Ohhh! I love fish and chips! Yum! I try to use ground turkey in most dishes that call for a ground meat. Trying to be a little healthier - not working too much, but every bit helps, right? ;)

teagsmom That's a good point - people who don't craft or create gifts don't have a clue as to how much time, effort and some times money goes into the gift.
