My last trip to the US. Not evident from the photo, this couple sitting on a bench on the Santa Monica Pier enjoying the sunset looked to be in their 70's. I always find it heart warming to see an old couple who have been through...

Every time Sydney celebrates, people crowd around the harbor for the best spots , often days before the event. Roads around the harbour are closed off, snd often it seems every blade of grass is claimed.
This is the crowd from...

Many years ago I use to go sailing on our beautiful harbour. It's Sydney's playground and there is always lots of activity.
These boats are called "Skiffs" and racing them is becoming a huge sport. Obvious by the amount of...

I never knew this existed till I went to NYC. It's a memorial to the soldiers that fought in the Korean war. It's located in Battery Park, on the outskirts of the financial district. It has the flags of every country that fought...

When I first starting using a Digital Camera, I would take a picture of everything. Why not, it's not like the old days where you waste film. If you dont like it you can always delete it, except I never did. I horded my...

I use to live above the harbour in my beautiful city. The harbour was the backdrop to many festivals during the year and this was taken on New Years Eve a number of years ago.
Fireworks on our harbour are always spectacular.

My last visit to Hong Kong and from my hotel room I took this picture of people practicing Tai Chi in the park.
Apparently it's a form or martial arts, and if sped up can be lethal. The people practicing it though looked like...

NYC would have to be high on my all time favorite cities. I think it was that sense of familiarity that comes from growing up in diets of American television like Welcome Back Kotter, the Odd Couple, the Cosby show, Seinfeld, Law...

We were in China in 2004 and went off the beaten track. In the middle of nowhere on the banks of a river, someone had built a restaurant. We arrived early in the evening and the whole area was covered with a thick mist as if...

On my last visit to NY I went for a walk in Central Park and was surprised to find squirrels living in the park (photo).
In my city of Sydney we have a "central park" called Hyde Park and you often see sights like this and you...

This is my favorite family photo. It's my oldest son and his cousin at a family dinner. As the adults were busy with small talk about the weather and the food, the kids were busy discussing their own, seemingly more interesting...

Following the Bali bombing, many Australians stopped visiting Bali and Sabah became a popular holiday choice. The photo is from my trip.
It's on the Island of Borneo but is governed by Malaysia. I met a hairdresser there that...

I have lived in Sydney for 50 years but its only in the last 10 years that I have seen indigenous wildlife in the city.
In the last 10 years I have seen Gala's , a goanna, a redback spider (yes my first), a yellow belly black...

They say we share 50% of our genes with a banana. That might explain this 2 for 1 banana I picked up at the supermarket today. It is a siamese banana.

I remember we were made to drink milk every morning at school. Not sure to this day what the reasoning behind it was or even when it was stopped. All I know is I hated it. Much later I learned to bring chocolate powder to mix...

A few years ago I spent some time on a farm that had a pond outside. I woke up one morning to these guys practicing their diving skills. Actually more dropping than diving, but they would quietly line up and take it in turns drop...

Australia has lots of unusual animals, mainly marsupials that dont live anywhere else in the world. One that is not a marsupial and thought to be a descendant of the wolf.
We can work out how most animals here evolved like no...

Have you seen controversial Gillette ad that has polarized a lot of people?
My view is the aim of the add is not to cause controversy for it’s own sake, but to get their name in the news cheaply through the controversy.
It...
