DeborahWY In Singapore, we have the same problem too but perhaps more so with the younger generation. Our government does a lot to promote the "value" of the older generation. I guess that helps a lot.

DeborahWY You are right - parenting is no easy task and children can be real monsters at time. Still that does not give anyone the reason to take it out on the helpless children. Parents who cannot cope should seek professional help.

DeborahWY Sad to say, there are parents who are not ready for their role and it's the innocent children who suffer. And yes it's true that non all single parents are bad, there are the ones who cope well and are able to raise healthy children too.
