Why is it being called the Swine flu?

Does anyone know for sure why it is named this? I know there is a techinical name called R soemthing or other. And I know it is a combination of bird, human and swine....but why exactly is it called the swine flu?

coolyo443 It is much like bird flu (just as in the name) it comes from the name pig in greek when the infected pig gets into contact with a human the human can gets the same diseace. so to answer the question, it deffinetly comes from pig (or swin in greek).
