friendthegirl Actually, German and English are very closely related. The word order is not so different and I see more similarities than differences. I find it semi-easy to learn. I'm not the greatest at speaking it, but I'm coming along.

friendthegirl I mostly knit for myself, because people who don't knit or don't do other crafts, don't realize how much time and money goes into a handmade gift. However, homemade foodstuffs are great for gifts, IMO.

I have a "sort of" homemade way to create my chili. I use a packet of "chili mix", added to some browned burger. Add my beans and sauces and cook in the crockpot. I'd love to try a "real" homemade version of chili.....

friendthegirl I read this book not long after it first came out and I remember really, really not liking it. I love fairy tales and even the twisted or updated ones, but this did nothing for me.
