Thomas62 At one time I was close to it being a part-time occupation. Then I got married, had kids and quit playing for a time. Now it is just for fun. When our kids got older, I started up again and improved my skills considerably.

Thomas62 I own my favorite looking guitar. A two-color sunburst Stratocaster with a figured ash body and maple neck. It has that 1950's thing going, but with a three-ply pickguard. If I replaced the plastic with 50's era plastic, it would look even better.

Thomas62 My 14 year old would not share anything with us. But I did the same to my parents. We tell him all the time that we are here to listen, and that we went throught the same things. But to no avail. He is a good kid, so I do not worry too much.

Thomas62 I have played guitar for 30 years, played trumpet for 7 years in school. I used to be able to play piano, but not much anymore. I have a bass guitar, and can sort of play violin, but not very well. Of course, I play the triangle pretty well, too!

Thomas62 It would have to be Duane Allman, who inspired me to start playing back in 1974. Randy Rhoads would be a favorite, too. As far as guitar players who are alive, I would have to say Edge of U2. I really like the way he gives color and texture to the songs.

Thomas62 We did. It was well done and we enjoyed it. I liked the son who did not talk for half of the movie and really felt sorry for him when he realized his dream of being a pilot would not come true.
