I just watch ice glaciers breaking up in Greenland and they called it "Calving." I don't understand why it is called that. Does anyone on Mylot know?

Catkin When a glacier calves, it's basically giving birth to a new iceberg (or usually a whole bunch of them)...so I would guess that this "birth" is the reason it's called calving. Just like when a cow gives birth to a calf, which is called calving.

Catkin Slippery elm is something you could try, a lot of people use it to help treat GERD (gastroesophogeal reflux disease...a.k.a. heartburn!). :)
