I want to learn about World War II . . . where do I start?

I would like to start studying World War II and I have no idea where to begin! I know almost nothing about the major battles. Can anyone recommend any particularly helpful websites? I would like to get an idea of the battles...

What is your favorite religion to study besides your own? I have personally always thought that Greek Orthodox is a fascinating faith because so little is known about it in this part of the world.

I would love to learn German since many of my ancestors came from Germany in the 18th century. I also think French and Spanish are beautiful languages.
