I'm grateful for instant coffee. To my mind it tastes just as good as the coffee which comes out of those fancy machines, it's quicker to prepare and there's no need for an expensive machine taking up place in the kitchen. And...

Our landline and ADSL were finally repaired last Saturday afternoon after being out of order for 10 days, and over the course of the last week I've been desperately trying to catch up on some of the things I couldn't do during...

I'm so frustrated. Our landline and internet aren't working again - down since Wednesday. That's about nine days out of the last 18 so I've been forced to take my kindle out looking for free WiFi just to keep contact with my life...

"I have good news for you."
That's the subject of an email I just received. The body reads:
"I have an important information for you. Get back to me immediately for more details."
There's something very phishy about this one,...

I was online on Thursday afternoon when our landline and internet connection suddenly stopped working. I immediately phoned to report the problem, making mention of the fact that we needed the landline urgently - my elderly mother...

This was the last song that Glen Campbelll wrote. It was written after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011 and shows a frightening realisation of what lay ahead of him.
Alzheimer's is a frightening disease. I've...

I've been saying for a long time that I spend too much time online, but I've been struggling to change. Then a few days ago I read an interesting article on Medium - 4 Amazing Benefits of Reducing Your Screen Time - and...

This parrot lives at a local nursery which I visited this weekend. I stopped to take a few photos of him and was lucky enough to shoot a burst just as he opened his mouth. He wasn't actually talking, but it sure looks that way.

Yesterday I found out that Blogbourne is closing down when their hosting expires. I can hardly say I'm surprised. As far as I can tell nobody has posted there since January.
I'm not sure what made me join the site but I knew from...

I always enjoy visiting myLot, but in the past I haven't been here as often as I would like to because my time management is really bad. As a result I don't make enough to get paid every month. I certainly won't be getting any...

When I opened my mailbox a little while ago I was surprised to see a notification of an email which was deleted without being read by my service provider. Something seemed a bit odd about it because I haven't had reason to...

I got into quite a panic when I lost mine yesterday.
When I took my car keys out of my pocket they pulled the house keys out with them, and those fell to the floor. It was raining at the time so that probably muffled the sound...

Am I the only one having a problem with thumbnails of photos and profile pictures that won't display?
Normally it wouldn't bother me too much but I had no internet connection for most of last night and today, so now that it's...

I've always been opposed to using ad blockers because ads are what keeps sites like this one alive. However I've made one exception to that rule - I always block AdSense ads on my own blogs or sites like HubPages where specific...

I find it quite depressing that there have been masses of posts here about the deaths of George Michael and Carrie Fisher, yet I couldn't find a single post mentioning Serena Williams's engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis...

Whenever I hear the song "White Christmas" being played on the radio I think how inappropriate it is given that Christmas falls in summer here. The only chance we have of getting a white Christmas is if we have a really severe...

Today's been one of those days when technology has let me down really badly. What was meant to be a simple 5 minute online transaction refused to work and I was forced to do my business by telephone. That meant a lot more than 5...

When I logged on to Facebook this morning I found a new friend request waiting for me. I was a bit surprised to see that it came from my cousin, someone who's been on my friend list almost as long as I've been on Facebook.
I...

Normally that wouldn't be newsworthy, but as we head into our second summer of drought conditions and fairly harsh water restrictions, it's definitely something to celebrate. I hope this isn't a one off event but is a sign of...
