lauriemellis Have you tried your talking to the pastor at your church? Salvation Army stores. A lot of communities have something like a food shelf. Talk to someone there. They'll know some resources that you may not have even thought off. Good luck.

lauriemellis Myself, I'd make the phone call but it probably wouldn't do much good unless the dog showed clear signs of being abused. Maybe you could find someone that would offer to take the dog off their hands.

lauriemellis I live in Vermont. I feel very safe in our comminuty. I think every community has a *creeper* in it. Being a small town, they're easily spotted. Here, we kind of always watch the kids. It's crazy not to. They go out to play and feel safe in their backyards....
