Leppie sound studios and programming do not really require the same from a laptop. i think resource wise sound studios are much more demanding than ide's. i'm not too familiar with laptops for sound processing etc. but it seems like professionals have them...

Leppie the beta of windows 7 is available for download. they say it's better than vista (uses less resources), so you could give it a try. the key they give you is valid only for 14 days though...

Leppie there's a couple of issues with high processing power... first of all processing power produces requires battery, hence a very powerfull processor could drain a laptops battery in minutes unless a massive battery pack is installed (but is it still a laptop...
