My mom and stepdad always make it from scratch. The recipe has been in his family forever. I usually open a jar and add spices because I'm not home all day to watch a pot of homemade sauce.

Lovelylilpeapod not necessarily because then you're looking at child neglect, domestic violence and so on from immaturity and lack of experience. i just think it would cause more problems. we need to look more in to teens and pregnancy rates as far as society goes.
