If you are not going to be home, do you still leave your lights on - just for them? Do they notice if the lights are on or not? What kind of pets do you have?

northwoods You are so fortunate that your pup settles down and goes back to sleep! Some people have such a terrible time with the whining. I think it is a good idea not to 'cave' in to them. Love them lots, but let them know they can be by themselves and it will be ok.

northwoods A Northern Inuit would be an excellent dog for around here (Northern Minnesota) We have a whopping -4 degrees temperature today. That's below zero. Not counting the windchill factor. They must be the original sled dog! Got any pictures?

northwoods When I am driving, my mind might wander in a million places, but whenever I see someone homeless, it really brings me back to the reality of how good I've actually got it. Thanks

My cat will only eat fancy feast (canned). He gets dry food as well, but it isn't his first choice. Since he is not overweight, I guess we indulge him. But if he doesn't like the kind of canned food that I put out, he will refuse...

northwoods My cat Eddie loves, Loves, LOVES ham! If you open the fridge, and there is ham within, he will come running from where ever he is in the house!

northwoods What a funny dog! Mine would not be able to tell the difference between the wet and the people (food). We only feed the dry because it is best to keep her teeth in good condition. She's seven yrs.

northwoods Oh, one of the good one's from this past year, 2007 was "Mistress of the Art of Death" by Ariana Franklin. Pretty good book = a type of murder mystery. A woman who is a doctor, is called on to find the cause of death. It has a real 'CSI' feeling to it.

northwoods Funny kitty! I sometimes wonder if the dog just has "cat-food envy" - whatever food they have MUST be better than what's in my dish! But maybe that is just pigs. (Speaking as a former farm girl).

northwoods That's probably the key: don't start with the other food 'options' and you won't have to worry about the attitude later!

northwoods Oh, I like that Idea! Of sorting responses. Of being able to 'sort' responses - kind of like I do with my e-mail, too. And then, to save more than topics; to save comments, too! But then, I am a person who makes lists of my lists, so maybe I'm going too far....

I was watching my sister's cat while she was away, and I was eating some melon. The cat meowed and meowed until I gave her some! She loved it! Especially cantaloupe. What strange foods do your pets love?
