karlag I definitely buy second-hand things, as well as sell some of my things that I no longer need. It is a good way to reduce clutter and to keep things that are useful out of landfills. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

karlag I like to let the kids cook. It not only is good together time, but helps with fractions, which all of my kids seemed to have trouble with. It also help them with reading. Decorating desserts was always the most fun, it's amazing how creative kids can be.
