karthikkrish i go for windows only...bcoz it is user friendly .... mostly people had spent time with windows more than with linux...but in cse of linux the security is high and the possiblities of gettin a virus in linux is almost nill....so if you want a better interface...

karthikkrish i Would suggest you to go to avg antivirus...it is totally free and protects well if you update the antivirus database once in a while...it would slow down your pc a bit...but it is good in freeware..... you can also download pirated version of norton...

So, what software programs slow down your system? And, how do you deal with them? Do you get rid of them or just use them less often? Whenever I click on a .pdf (Acrobat Reader) file, my computer freezes up and slows way down....

karthikkrish You can hav many apps...but dont do multi tasking...tat is not more than one ofr two apps at a time..this greatly slows ur pc down..other thing is your RAm and processor...if it is still slow you need to go for a upgrade..as the softwares are becoming more...
