My husband and I have never agreed on foods. He is not the least bit healthy, and won't touch a vegetable to save his life!! He is a typical steak and potato kind of guy. Me on the other hand.. I love vegetables, and my favorite...

ocularium I have never officially read any of PG Wodehouse's books, but have seen the BBC series "Jeeves and Wooster" and loved it--very funny and witty! Christopher Moore is good for a laugh as well..I haven't read much by him, just "Lamb" and "Fluke" so far, but, like...

What is your favorite Roald Dahl book or movie? I love The Witches (book and movie) and James and the Giant Peach. Charlie and the Chocolate factory is in the midst of those, as well as Matilda. I also liked his autobiographies,...

Tonight I am going to mark homemade macaroni and cheese. We are also going to throw some burgers on the grill. Then later on for dessert we'll have ice cream. =)
What are your dinner plans?

ocularium I am having chicken and rice (well, arroz con pollo to be precise). We have been eating so much leftover ham from Easter (I think my husband could eat au gratin potatoes with ham everyday, but I need a change of pace!) We will finish the potatoes and ham...

ocularium I LOVE Roald Dahl's books and stories, but don't think I could pick a favorite. I really like the Witches as well (both the book and the movie). I haven't read his autobiographies but have read all of his adult short stories and thought they were incredible!...

I previously posted a discussion about what do peole feed their cats. I was looking more specifically for brands that you guys use. I currently use Science Diet dry kitten food. Soon I will be switching to an adult formula but I'm...

ocularium I started feeding my older cat Science diet as he had gotten quite thin and scrawny and didn't seem like he was 100%. Wow--what a difference! Within a few months he had gained weight and was looking and feeling better and his fur really improved. This is not...

I love to read book series. Some can be very good. If you were going to recommend some series of books which would you recommend? For myself I'd recommend these, these aren't in any particular order :):
1. The Incarnation of...

ocularium Right now I am reading the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R.R. Martin and I love it! I can't say that I'm a fan of fantasy (but I can't say that I'm not a fan either, since I really haven't read that much of it) but a friend who IS into fantasy...

I just moved to the U.S., and my son asked me to make pancakes, as he is American, I felt I should make pancakes the American way for him, as he has never tried this before. We only make the European crepes...which I might add are...

I have twin 9 year olds, and it seems as though it is getting harder and harder to get them to eat their vegetables.
We try to have a salad every night, and they manage to get that down...but what can we do to get more vitamins...

ocularium I don't have children, but I do have a husband who doesn't like vegetables, so I don't know if the same tactics will work or not, but here they are. I try to incorporate them into as much as I can. When they are a separate item he tends to look at them as...

I bought several hyacinths and an Easter Lily before Easter but I don't have a green thumb with plants. My mother could get anything to grow but that ability skipped me. Does anybody have any tips for me to keep them going?

ocularium My husband bought me an Easter lily so I have been wondering about planting it as well! Thank you for starting this discussion! I did read that you should remove the yellow stamen (where the pollen is) from the flowers as it will make them last longer. Does...

I've been trying hard to clean the grimes and stains in my toilet, esp the wall tiles. Any suggestion how to improve or any products that i can rely on?
Thanks

ocularium putting a little bleach IN the toilet, swishing it around, letting it sit for a bit then flushing usually helps. As for wall tiles, it depends what kind of tile you have. I use Comet bathroom cleaner (in a spray bottle) and that's usually pretty good. If it's...

Do you have a preference? I normally prefer to read a paper back book because it's easier to hold. I feel that hard cover books can be uncomfortable and bulky in my hands, but a paperback book lets me curl up and enjoy it better.

ocularium definitely paperback. I like to read in the tub (when I need some 'me' time or I don't feel good) and it is quite difficult to hold a hard bound book in the tub. And if a part of it gets wet, your hand turns the color of the book. Hardcover books look better...
