9thwonder personally because i am from a christian family i would teach my kids about santa but tell them that he is just made up and that he is part of the christmas festivities. i would not want to take the true meaning of christmas away.

9thwonder i think that it is not good to stay in contact with the person when you are talking to them every day or something like that. if you say hi every once in a while thats fine but too much will lead to a lot of problems later on.
