Anime and Cartoon, What's the Difference ?!

As a kid, I often refer to all animations as cartoons. Now, I refer to them as animes. But really, whats the difference? I think anime and cartoons are the same.. they're both animations. Any ideas?

natzee I usually keep my spare change. Then, I save it in my "alkansiya" (a piggy bank) which is stored in my pedestal desk in the office. I keep it safe there from my younger brother who at times would pilfer. lol. I keep it there until i'm in dire need of money....
