My daughter will be 6-9 months old this summer and I am so excited to play with her outside and take her to the beach, etc. I bought her a cute one piece Pooh bathing suit and I am thinking about trying to teach her how to swim. I...

wvclaylady Brooklyn is so sweet! I think you're right to want to teach her to swim at an early age. It's amazing how well babies learn things! I was forced to learn when I was in the 4th grade. It was a school requirement, but I didn't really learn. I was already afraid...

I made this out of blends of scrap clay. I liked it fine until I reduced it. It reduces horribly. Loses all detail.
So anyway just want to know what you think. All honest...

wvclaylady I agree with the others! It's very pretty! I can see what you're saying about the detail, and I'm not sure why it would do that, unless you might have been using a softer clay than usual. Canes seem to do better with the firmer clays, but if you only have...

I have made a couple of attempts to sculpt with polymer clay and I have to tell you it's a blast. It's easy to work with and it helps to already have colors instead of just plain gray or white like many other sculpting mediums....

Seems to me that most of the things you do with fimo, you can do with sculpey even though I haven't found and precious metal clays in the sculpey...

Let's say it's your birthday and I'm going to give you ANY kitchen gadget you want. What would you pick?
Many would love a dehydrator, I know I loved mine when I had it. Others would pick something like a big mixer,...

I was born overweight. I have never known what it was like to be thin. I love to walk, hike, hunt, fish, camp and I know how to work. Just this morning I was outside with my husband splitting wood while he cut it with the chain...

wvclaylady I think it really has a lot to do with what you're passionate about making. If you don't enjoy making it, then it will show in your work. Figure out what you really love making. Jewelry, canes, figures, "paintings", the list goes on. From there, start with one...
