Just a simple guy with nothing better to do than to waste a little time with my myLot friends. Dabble in some music here and there, and just lead a simple life.

I've heard that whatever you do on the first day of a new year is what you'll do the rest of the year.
If that's true, here's what I've done today.
Cooked breakfast
Cooked dinner (I'm not superstitious, but I did cook a pot of...

I had totally forgotten about it. My cousin was talking about it like a month ago when we were making ravioli. My sister and cousin kept talking about it and saying we always played it at a dive bar in Seaside and apparently we...

This is my pretty British short-hair cat. We buy her some outfit. We bought her when my mother died to cheer us up.
Second day of January here.
What's your plan for 2024?

He made a "roulade of beef" as the cookbook called it. It is pretty much the same as a German Rouladen. I made the gravy.
We ate red cabbage and whole berry cranberry sauce with it, plus a baked potato.
I am early putting...

Everything in Nepal and India was very old. Hundreds and thousands of years old. The facilities were old and run down as well
Now here I am at a Holliday inn in Dubai with American music playing, modern plumbing, people speaking...

Good evening from cold Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The temperature on my computer shows 23 F. When I woke up this morning, it was snowing, making it the perfect way to start the new year.
I have so much to be thankful for today. A...

It's been a surprisingly comfortable-ish start to the new year. Without the harsh winds, the cool air didn't feel as bad, but you could feel the difference. I am just now starting to feel a slight chill in the air, but that's to...

Jim Bauer I agree. Hubby should out of the pants before you throw them in the washer. This is a good idea.

I called the nurses' station and my husband happened to be right there in a wheelchair; so she gave him the phone. He was hard to hear and understand. He gets like that sometimes. We had a very short conversation; but at least...

Jim Bauer I guess some conversation was better than no conversation at all. Onward and upward.

Living in Alabama can be strange sometimes, the weather can be mild or a deep freeze. Most of the time winter comes hard in January and February.
The last few days of December the temperature was nice and most people wore short...

Because I'm a writer that took a break I do use words like chapter, but chapter also means a period of time.
The last chapter of my life has closed, the chapter of no structure, that chapter lasted longer than I should have...

Well, we made it into 2025. I am thankful that we have. The sun is out, and while the high will only be 65, our spirts are god. George made it to the couch. He's had his meds and I've got food gooing. All in all it's looking to be...

This year, along with music, I’m saluting folks from other walks of life who left us last year. As with the music list, this will be alphabetical for 21 days, with the “top” ten in my personal reflection at the end. Grab a...

Jim Bauer Yeah, I remember his story. He sold out, basically. I always think of it as a reminder to not only think of your current value, but your intrinsic value. When the two guys (I forget their names) sold their Tombstone pizza brand, I believe to Kraft—or whoever...

We had a good many loud poppers here in the city at my daughter's house and my granddaughter was super excited getting to stay up late. She didn't go to bed until almost 2 am. We pulled her out of bed...

Jim Bauer Not as bad this year as years past. But then the main culprits next door moved out last August, so they are no more, Either way, we just had a quiet evening and heard a few fireworks off in the distance, but nothing nearby. Enough to make the cats a bit jumpy...
