I was listening to a discussion about euthanasia today, and it came to my attention that many people are completely swayed by their religious beliefs. Many people who were completely against the thought of assisted suicide...

Reclusivehermitguy I'm against suicide/assisted suicide not so much because I am a devout believer in God, but because I believe a person should not give up on life no matter how hard and horrible it gets, nor how painful and sorrowful it gets. I believe it's a cowardly...

I'm back after a few weeks with no computer, it decided to fry the motherboard and cpu, the technician said "it was from lightning" - (well no lightning at time) - he said - "no zap catcher" - (it was plugged into a very expensive...

Reclusivehermitguy Whether I like computers or not solely depends on whether they're working at the moment or not lol. Right now I love my laptop, but two weeks ago....well that's a different story (had to buy a new one, the old one kept crashing). It's all well now though.

Some people don't even know the difference!
My MOM for example. I reminded her to buy Cool Whip to go with the Pumpkin Pie on Thanksgiving. She brought Whipped Cream in a can.
I GOTTA HAVE MY COOL WHIP! I can't eat pumpkin pie...

For years I was convinced that flash cards were nothing more than a waste of time. That is, until I had a kid of my own and tried to teach her simple math concepts. Not the easiest job in the world. We were having a real hard time...

I am curious about first impressions or thoughts.
If you hear a married couple is sleeping in separate rooms what would you automatically assume is the problem, if there is a problem at all?
I'll tell you I sleep in our...

Growing up in the Catholic religion I was taught that there are mortal and venial sins. The mortal sins were the huge sins that to me only adults committed like murder, stealing and adultry. They had to know they were doing wrong,...

Reclusivehermitguy I also believe that a sin is a sin, for the most part. I don't agree with Catholics on a few things, but then again I suppose I don't agree with most Christian denominations. First and foremost, I believe in God, and in what Jesus taught. Secondly, I try to be...

in your opinion, does man make a man because of his experiences in life or where he really came from (family, community, etc)?
i believe that a person becomes who he is now because of his experiences. in all the challenges in...

Reclusivehermitguy What makes a man who he is, are mainly his experiences. A good ole Christian family could have a child who turns out to be a warped Hitler-like person. It happens more often than you think. On the flip-side of things, it's not unheard of for a person born to a...

This has become one of the biggest political footballs of our time. Politicians court the future block vote, should illegal aliens be given "amnesty" and fast tracked to citizenship. Industry says they are needed to help keep the...

Reclusivehermitguy Figured I'd throw my own idea into the ring: the U.S. could increase it's ability to process citizenship applications in a faster manner. Many illegal immigrants are just those who didn't want to bother waiting two years to get into the U.S. Now if we could...
