msmuir I think it gift will be a reasonable gift for a child as he/she will appreciate it as usually children know what they want for an xmas gift from before so ..yeah a gift will be suitable .....but if the children needs the clothes more give them that instead...

msmuir I agree with you simon that computers and internet cannot replace pens and pencils as they both have speial roles to play in ourlives. personally speaking i use pens and pencils in the classroom .I use a pencil to do little jottings and pens when taking notes....
